Our speakers on October 16, 2019 will be members of the 2019 Walk in U.S., Talk on Japan delegation:
Tomohiko Taniguchi (Delegation Leader)
Yasunori Nakayama
Makoto Kuroda
Akira Sakano
From 2014 onwards, the "Walk in U.S., Talk on Japan" program has been taking place in various regions of the U.S. and Canada, highlighting Japan's attractiveness and appeal.
*Since 2016, this program has visited 2 provinces and 2 cities in Canada under the name of "Walk in Canada, Talk on Japan" as well.
Participants from Japan who have volunteered to join the program come from a diverse range of backgrounds, but all have some connection to the U.S. and Canada. They form groups, each of which is led by a "group leader" with a relevant area of expertise. While travelling through various major cities in North America, each group takes part in exchanges at a local grassroots level, discusses important factors of the future U.S.-Japan relationships and Canada-Japan relationships, and talks about recent positive developments in Japan.
Brookhaven Rotarian Dan Martinez will provide a customized menu, partially hands on, for this Club Social event.
Location: HQ BGE 3786 Dekalb Technology Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30340 (map link)
Cost: $69 per person
We're heading back to Jekyll Island!
The 2019-20 District Conference will be held at Jekyll Island on April 30 - May 3, 2020. This is a great opportunity to spend time with fellow Rotarians, enjoy fellowship with members from other clubs, enjoy the island with your family, and learn more about all the great work Rotary District 6900 is doing!
The District website registration page is live (link here), so take care of this today. We're sending a big group this year and will plan to host a hospitality room.
You can stay anywhere on Jekyll Island you like, of course, and many members of our Club will be at the Jekyll Island Club (link here).
